Opera “King Arthur” from Henry Purcell, by Arma Barok Opera
Come to live a new version of Purcell’s King Arthur Opera on July 15th at 6pm at Chateau de la Ballue.

This year the ARMA Barok Opera and Frédérique Chauvet, Artistic Director, revisit Purcell for everyone’s enjoyment.

The art team has selected beautiful fragments of King Arthur’s original play, and the director Sybrand van der Werf has chosen a popular theatrical style: the so-called “transparent” play. The singers thus plow the work, draw from it what they find important, and content the story they knew how to appropriate. The work is accessible to a wide audience.

As part of the Summer Operas of Dinard, a new “mise en espace” of this show will take place on Sunday, July 15th in the courtyard of the Château de La Ballue. It will be followed by a cocktail with the artists, who are:
• 5 singers:
Wendy Roobol and Mijke Sekhuis (sopranos), Oscar Verhaar (Countertenor), Mattijs Hoogendijk (tenor), Pieter Hendriks (bass-baritone).
• 8 instrumentalists from the BarokOpera Ensemble:
2 violins, viola, violin bass, oboe, flute, harpsichord, percussion, trumpet.

Entrance :
– 30 € full price
– 15 € for students and 10-18 years old
– Free for children under 10 years old.
