How do I get there?
La Ballue on the Garden side
Getting to La Ballue from Paris
To get to the Jardins de la Ballue from Paris, there are two options available to you:
- Follow the A13 motorway, then the A84 (Rouen – Caen towards Rennes), and take exit 34 towards Saint-Malo (N175). Follow the N175 to Antrain, then head towards Bazouges-la-Pérouse on the D313. After 4 km, you will see signs for the Château and Gardens of La Ballue on the right.
- Follow the A11 motorway to Le Mans, then the A81 to Laval, before heading for junction 5 towards Fougères. Then take the D155 towards Saint-Malo as far as Antrain, where you can follow the signs for Dol-de-Bretagne and Bazouges-la-Pérouse (D313).
Getting to La Ballue from Rennes
If you’re planning a visit to our Remarkable Gardens in Brittany, you can easily reach us from Rennes. Simply take the northern ring road to junction 15, ‘Route historique du Mont-Saint-Michel’. This will take you onto the D175.
Follow it as far as Sens-de-Bretagne, then head towards Combourg via the D794. You will reach Bazouges-la-Pérouse via Saint-Rémi-du-Plain. Once in Bazouges, the château is signposted, 4 km from the village centre.
Getting to La Ballue from Mont-Saint-Michel
Getting to La Ballue from Dinan and Saint-Malo
If you’ve just been exploring the Cité Corsaire, stop by the Château and the gardens of la Ballue. Take the N176 to Dol-de-Bretagne, where you can take the second exit towards Fougères (D155). Once in Trans-la-Forêt, turn right towards Bazouges-la-Pérouse on the D90. Drive through the village before turning left onto the D91 to reach the château, 3 km away.
